My Makeup Kit

My new soft train case/duffle bag came in the mail today! I ordered it off of www.yazmo.com and used discount code “renren” to get 10% off.

I’ve been using this black traincase for the past year or so and it is just way too heavy to lug around.

I just weighed the top traincase by itself and it came out to be a whopping 25 pounds! I don’t even know what the combined weight is. All I do know is that I had to lug it up 2 flights of stairs for one of my recent gigs and struggled.

So after reading online reviews, I decided to get the Zuca Pro Artist rolling case from www.zuca.com and used discount code “promkup” to get 20% off.

I got the black on black frame and bag, but it won’t ship til December because its back ordered. I was worried that it wouldn’t fit all my cosmetics so I got the duffle bag to supplement.

I figured in the mean time using only the duffle bag would teach me to scale down and not bring so many products. I highly doubt I would need 15 different shades of orange for a wedding right?

The top of my old traincase held most of the color products, such as foundation, eyeshadow, lipsticks, lipglosses, primers, etc.

The middle section carried all my blushes, pigments and misc. like makeup wipes, tape, scissors, etc.

The bottom portion carried my airbrush kit, disposable applicators, brushes and other tools.

Here is a side by side comparison of the old and new traincase.

I filled the top with (from left to right): brushes, liquid products (like hand sanitizer, makeup remover, setting spray, etc.), foundation, eyeshadow (I scaled down to just 2 palettes), blushes.

I filled the top drawers with lipsticks and lipglosses. The second drawer is filled with eye pencils, lip pencils, brow pencils.

The left side is filled with disposable applicators and false lashes. The right side is filled with concealors, primers and moisturizers.

The new duffle bag carries roughly about 70-75% of my previous traincase comfortably. The products I left out are: my airbrushing kit, airbrush cosmetics, all my pigments, additional eye and lip pencils, additional eyeshadow and additional brushes and tools.

Since I was snapping pictures, I took a picture of my hair kit as well. I got the Zuca Artist Backpack and love it. It fits all my hair stuff and keeps it super organized.

I have a wedding this Saturday, lets see how my new scaled down kit works. I’m hoping it cuts down on the clutter and increases efficiency.
I’ll let you know how it goes =)
